Goodreads Synopsis:
Macey McHenry—Glamorous society girl or spy-in-training?

W.W. Hale V—Heir to an American dynasty or master thief?

There are two sides to every coin. Whether these two can work together is a tossup.

Born into privilege, Macey and Hale are experts at mingling with the upper class. But even if they’ve never raised an eyebrow at the glitz, neither teenager has ever felt at home with the glamour.

When Macey and Hale meet at a society gala, the party takes a dangerous turn. Suddenly they’re at the center of a hostage situation, and it’s up to them to stop the thugs from becoming hostile. Will Macey’s spy skills and Hale’s con-man ways be enough to outsmart a ruthless gang? Or will they have to seek out the ultimate inside girl to help?

The worlds of Heist Society and the Gallagher Girls collide in Ally Carter’s fast-paced, high-stakes and tantalizing new story. Get a behind the scenes glimpse as Ally delivers an irresistible thriller that is full of her signature style and savvy twists.

What I thought:
I have not read any book in either the Gallagher Girls or Heist Society prior to reading this novella, so I'm going to review this as a stand alone.

Even though it's part or two series it works perfectly as a stand alone, could be because I've read the synopsis for both Heist Society and Gallagher Girls #1 and had some background info. Or maybe not.

The very short introduction of the setting and our two main characters is just enough to get the gist of who they are and what they do. Then they're thrown straight in to action.

This is a good and easy read that's perfect for when you feel the urge to read and get a little adrenalin runnin' but don't have very much time. It's well written and highly enjoyable. However, you might get more out of it if you have read anything in the Heist Society and/or Gallagher Girls series beforehand.

My rating:

About the author:
Ally Carter is a writer living and working in the Midwest. She loved school so much she kept going...and going...and going...until finally she had to graduate. Now she has degrees from Oklahoma State University and Cornell University and a house and a job and other very grown-up things.

Her life is either very ordinary or the best deep-cover legend ever. She'd tell you more, know...
