Top Ten Tuesday #15: Character Names I Love

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly Top Ten list hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Today we're discussing names. All books have characters, and characters have names.  Some names we fall in love with, some we dislike and some we don't just understand at all.

I usually have very vivid dreams and day-dream a lot. For some reason pretty much all men have J-names. There's been Josh, James, Jayden, Jackson, Jonathan, Jax... The lost goes on. For some reason I just love a male with a J-name.

Today's list will feature my favorite character names and their books. No of the men have J-names, I'm a bit disappointed I couldn't find any in the books I've read. AUTHORS. GET ON THE J-NAME TRAIN!

In no particular order:

Female:

Alix

I fell in love with Alix while reading The Sweet Gum Tree. I like unusual spellings of usual names.

Jax

I also like short names or nicknames, Jax is as short as they come. I'm also a fan of X. I'm thinking that may be because the only Swedish word I can think of with an x in it is xylophone so it's a bit exotic.

Sky

It's beautiful! How can something named after the endless, reach-for-the-stars-sky not be beautiful?

Alera

It's unusual but not odd and... I don't know. I just love it!

Lexi

I don't know which came first for me, The Vampire Diaries or Trust in Advertising. But I still love the name.

Male:

Lincoln

There's a Lincoln in Embrace by Jessica Shirvington too and I love both Linc and Linclon.

Graham

I loved this guy in the Between the Lines series and I've loved the name ever since.

Charlie

I had a friend who introduced me to the name Charlie a couple of years ago and it's hands down my favorite male name!

Trictapic

Trik for short, it's one of my favorite fantasy names. Kudos to you Quinn.

Kannin

I think I love this because it's bunny in Swedish. Who wouldn't be love a big, scary vampire named bunny?

  8. Vampire bunny? Alert the Monty Python guys!

Jax is a great name--short and strong. And a great character, if a little busted up.
